This story started with a run I didn’t want our kids to ski…

I promise this is more than just a gondola post… stay with me here 🤍

This first pic is the second half of the run down from Heavenly. There’s a whole first stretch above it you can’t see… the gondola ride alone is 2.5 miles, and this run drops right underneath it the entire way. It’s called “The Burn.”

And it’s completely out of bounds. Skull and crossbones gate. Unpatrolled. Steep. Trees WAY too close for my liking 😬

Years ago, the kids wanted to do it with Chris when they were much younger. I wasn’t thrilled… but I was proud they were willing to step into something uncertain… uncharted territory.

Fast forward to a few days ago…I saw a message I had missed from someone I didn’t know. She had searched for me on insta just to send it.

We met on that same gondola.

And what she shared after reading my book… well, it is exactly why I wrote it.

I’ve hesitated to share messages like these, not wanting it to seem boastful. But this one felt different because she didn’t/doesn’t know me.

The impression it left on her…well that was the whole point of me being brave enough to be vulnerable to share.

I will NEVER apologize for taking risks, for living boldly, for not waiting for someday.

I’m not just doing it for me… I’m setting an example for our kids.

I want them to take chances. To play big. To truly LIVE.

Because we only get one life… and time is never guaranteed.

So my message is simple—Do the dang thing. Even if you’re unsure. Even if it scares you.

You might just inspire someone else to do the same 🤍
