There’s a toxic belief many of us carry:
That asking questions means we’re being difficult.
That speaking up puts people out.
That advocating for ourselves is somehow “too much.”
It’s not.
Silence doesn’t equal kindness.
Compliance doesn’t equal respect.
And if we want better for the next generation, we have to show them what self-advocacy looks like in real life — in conversations, in doctor’s offices, in everyday decisions.
Taking up space isn’t the problem.
Not using your voice is.
