I had one of those “is this really happening?” moments this week. Made me smile and tear up just a bit too❤️
In Cabo, someone I deeply respect messaged to make sure we connected — because he had packed my book in his suitcase and wanted little ole ME to sign it.
His wife(who is an incredible leader in my Neora world) bought it when it first came out, but life got busy and she hadn’t started it yet. She sent me a picture of him reading it, saying he picked it up from the coffee table… and couldn’t seem to put it down.
He read it in two days.
Woke up at 5am to finish it before his kids got up.
And weeks later… he was still thinking about it. Enough to bring it with him on vacation.
He messaged me later:
“I don’t know how to explain how amazing your story is, how well you told it and what a resilient person you are.”
“Many times I got lost in the story and then remembered that I know this incredible person.”
“People need to read this.”
It’s hard to fully explain what THAT feedback feels like to me❤️
When you write something this personal — when you relive the hardest seasons of your life and quietly wonder if it’s too much or not enough — you never really know how it will land.
To hear….
that it mattered.
that someone got lost in it.
that it should reach more people.
that it stayed with him.
That my friends is everything ❤️
Not the praise….the impact.
Often we keep our hard stories to ourselves.
I’m really glad I didn’t.
If you’ve been meaning to read it, maybe this is your nudge. I’ll drop the link here👇🏻
https://amzn.to/4a89unp And if Audible is more your thing, I narrated it myself — imperfect, emotional, fully mine.
A year ago I had no idea I would write a book.
So if you’re sitting on something that feels bigger than you?
Stay open.
You never know where it might lead. 🍋
