“I wish people had been talking about this back when I was going
through menopause…”
I can’t tell you how often I hear that.
And honestly, I get it. For so long, this conversation just didn’t exist.
Women whispered about hot flashes and joked about mood swings, but no
one really talked about what was happening to their bodies — or what they
could actually do to feel better.
So when I get messages or run into people in town who say,
“I’m so glad you're talking about this — I wish someone had been back
when I needed it…” it lights a fire in me to keep going.
Let me set the scene for a minute: I live in a small New Hampshire town,
nestled in a cluster of other small towns, where it’s not unusual to know
someone at nearly every dinner spot or weekend event. Thanks to my work
in the wellness and skincare space, and the presence I’ve built online, I’ve
gotten to know so many incredible women I might not have crossed paths
with otherwise.
And because of that connection, I get to hear the stories — at the coffee
shop, in the frozen foods aisle, even while filling up my gas tank.
“I already went through it.”
“I didn’t even know HRT was an option.”
“It’s too late for me now.” And to that I say…
Ummmm, NO. IT. IS. NOT.
This edition of “It’s Too Late For Me” is dedicated to every woman who
thinks she missed the window. Let’s bust that myth wide open.
